FUN!  Fun! and Yes, more FUN!

I love getting hired to photograph private parties—family reunions, birthdays, graduation celebrations—you name it. Most of the time it’s here in Tennessee, but I’ve also been flown out for some of the bigger gigs: the Miracle Party in Colorado, wild events in Las Vegas, and even the occasional Texas or California blowout. (Pro tip: what happens in Vegas… usually still shows up in the photo gallery.)

It’s not just families, either. Nightclubs, fraternities, event planners, charities, and social groups all keep me busy with themed galas, sports celebrations, and seasonal parties. Every event is exciting, fun, and just enough of a challenge to keep me on my toes. A nightclub grand opening? Loud, colorful, flashing lights, people everywhere—it’s like trying to photograph a rave inside a kaleidoscope. That’s where years of experience, communication skills, and, let’s be honest, a big dose of common sense really come in handy.

And I love photographing people—whether I’m bunching them into a group photo, catching them busting moves on the dance floor, or spotlighting the entertainment on stage.

But my favorite gigs? Charity events. Photographing The Miracle Party for the last eleven years has been an absolute blessing—the kids, the entertainment, the volunteers, all incredible. I’ve also worked with The City of Hope breast cancer organization, Strike for Kids, and Serenity Springs Wildlife Center. There’s just something magical about photographing a charity event… and let’s face it, it’s way easier to cry happy tears when you’re already holding a camera in front of your face.

I always have fun with the partygoers—but don’t worry, I keep it professional. I absolutely never drink on the job (unless you count water, which I do by the gallon). Staying sober is the secret to getting the shots you want and avoiding ending up in the conga line with Aunt Linda.

If someone doesn’t want their photo taken, no problem—I respect their wishes. No sneaky paparazzi moments here. I also never post images without permission. Instead, I deliver everything to the host in a secure, locked gallery or even on a DVD (yes, I still own a DVD burner… call it “vintage cool”). If needed, I can also set up a way to easily share the photos with your guests—because nothing says “thank you for coming” like an album of party highlights.

Smaller, more personal events—like reunions, birthdays, or welcome home parties—may not be as wild as a nightclub opening, but they’re just as meaningful. I do the same thing every time: mingle, laugh along with your guests, and capture those perfectly candid and posed moments… without ever spilling anything on my camera bag.
